Cable Laying Method - Triangular

The Triangular cable laying method is typically used for 3 phase large power cables.

The Triangular cable laying method can be used only in conjunction with circuit numbers definition imported from a cable list (or manually assigned in cable manager).

Three Cables with same circuit number will be grouped together into a triangular configuration.

An example of a properly defined cable list for the triangular cable laying method is shown below:

As result cables P0001-P0009 will be routed into 3 trifold configurations as shown below:

When defining triangular configuration as an override, 3 parameters are used to configure it

Parameter 1 (par1) is mandatory and is used to define spacing between the first trifold and the cable tray:

Parameter 2 (par2) is used to define the fixed spacing between two trifolds.

If the desired triangular configuration is for fixed spacing between trifolds independent from the cable diameter, then Parameter 2 should be set to desired value ( inches in imperial dataset and mm in metric dataset)

Result of this configuration is shown below:

Parameter 3 (par3) is used to define spacing between trifolds as a function of the largest cable diameter. The default value for Parameter 3 is 2.15. It means that spacing between two trifolds will be equal to 2.15 x Diameter of the largest cable. This can be changed in Override configuration dialog box.

If neither Parameter 2 nor Parameter 3 are defined, Bentley Raceway and Cable Management will use the default which is; 2.15 x largest diameter equals spacing between trifolds.

If both Parameter 2 and Parameter 3 are defined, Bentley Raceway and Cable Management will use Parameter 3 and ignore value of Parameter 2
